  1. File Extension Mpc

Aug 23, 2015 As you all know, Groove Templates are MIDI files meant to reproduce different grooves and nuances, and using these MIDI files, one can create their own FL. I just recently put the MPC60 groove template midi files on my free page. I use them in Logic. They should also work in any host that can make groove templates out of.

The mythical mpc groove isnt a swing setting in the quantize window.the mythical mpc groove actually comes from somebody playing the part w/ quantize off.with the quantize off the mpc just plays back exactly what you put into it.which gives it the groove.does it take a few tries to get the perfect take? Hell yes.is it frustrating till you get it right? Hell yes.but it connects you more to your music and takes away alot of the manufactured sound you get from using quantisers and locking everything tightly to a grid.yes the swing percentage and moving events on/off the grid is cool on the mpc.but getting the really groovy stuff is something the machine doesnt provide.it is litterly the human touch that makes things groovy on the mpc. The sp1200 and tr-808 and to a certain extent the linndrum do have a certain groove to them.its cuz they dont have the tightest clocks in the world.so stuff tends to get just a little off beat in a good way.with the linn drum there is a swing% function that takes that little bit of off time funkiness and adds to it a little more.with the sp1200.you need to have an original.the re-issue sp-1200s have way tighter timing then the originals.just make sure your little cousin doesnt stick a credit card in your sp1200s floppy drive. Click to expand.yeah you could definitely get similar results turning off quantizing.i think the mpc is inherently better.but until you try both, you probably wont be able to tell when your playing, once you get used to an mpc, there is something off with midi controllers going to a cpu based sequencer. Afaik the 60 has a 48ppq(pulse per quarter note) clock and the 3000(and everything after it) have a 96ppq clock.from my experience the 3000's clock is pretty tight when its the master.the 3000 does slip off a little when its a slave.most, if not all the mpc's seem to slip a little when they arent the clock master tbh. The 808 and linn drum have a 24ppq clock.the original sp1200 has an internal 24ppq clock, but when it syncs to midi it's clock locks to the midi 48ppq clock. After a lot of trial and error iv discovered that the groove templates that you 'store' in cubase/nuendo are stored in a file called RAMPresets.xml which can be found in the folder my computer/documents and settings//aplication data/stienberg//presets does anyone know what other information this file stores? But my conclusion is that if u back this file up reguly so u can replace it if u lose them u should be able to store all the groove templates u want in cubase/nuendo maybey.

Ok iv added all the mpc3000 grooves to the cubase/nuendo quantize menue and ivattached my RAMPresets to this post im not shure if it will work but i think if u replace ur RAMPresets file with mine u should have access to the grooves with no efort by you but make shure u bak up ur original file incase it dosent work so u can put thinkgs bak the way there were any who, let me know if it works btw, u must have 'show hidden files' enabled to get to the folder this file needs to be in, refer to my previus post for the location that u put the file.
