Ek Shringaar – Swabhimaan is an Indian television series which is produced by popular Bollywood filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, very well known for his family drama films like Hum Apke Hain Kaun, Hum Saath Saath hain, Prem Ratan Dhan payo and many more under his home production banner Rajshri Productions. The show has premiered on 19th December 2016 on Colors TV replacing the popular and third-longest running serial Swaragini. The show is directed by Sooraj Barjatya and Vikram Ghai. The plot of the serial located in city of Bundi, Rajasthan where it revolves around the story of two sisters that is Meghna and Naina and their mother Sharda. The plot of the serial located in city of Bundi, Rajasthan where it revolves around the story of two sisters that is Meghna and Naina and their mother Sharda. The story is about how Sharada raised her daughters to be self-independent and educated in the society, worked hard to get their educational achievements so that they can have their self-respect among the world of men in the society. The theme is quite about women empowerment and gaining self-respect. The show encourages people to give daughters similar education status as of sons. The sister roles, Meghna and Naina are played by Sangeeta Chauhan who is popularly known for her Hindi film Jhankaar Beats directed by Sujoy Ghosh and also worked in few south Indian films; and then Ankitta Sharma who had her television debut in Zee TV historical fiction show Lajwanti. Sahil Uppal and Samridh Bawa are the male lead in Swabhimaan as Kunal and Karan respectively. Prachi Shah who is immensely popular for her role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and in films like ABCD 2, Student of the Year, Haunted 3D, Raja Natwarlal etc, is playing the role of Sharda, mother of Meghna and Naina in the series.
